Apply To Serve On The Maryland Collaborative Student Advisory Board!

The Student Advisory Board is an important component of
the mission of the Maryland Collaborative, a
statewide coalition dedicated to substance use prevention for college students. There are 18 member colleges and universities in the Collaborative, so members will have the opportunity to meet peers with similar passions at other schools.

Description:
Board members are responsible for providing important feedback from the student perspective to the professional staff of the Collaborative, as well as the leadership at each member school. In exchange, board members will receive professional development around substance use prevention and public health approaches. While the base requirement is attending 6 virtual meetings, interested and self-motivated students might have additional opportunities to impact the work of the Collaborative. This opportunity is perfect for students wanting to make a difference, as well as those looking to explore a career in behavioral health, though it is not required!

Qualifications/Requirements:
-Have an interest and passion for preventing substance use and its harms
-Be open to learning new prevention approaches
-A desire to work creatively with other students across the state
-Be able to commit at least one full academic year to the Board (graduating in Spring 2024 or later)
-A desire to make a difference!

How To Apply:
Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm, Sunday, September 24th.
Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted, so we recommend applying as early as you are able: bit.ly/MDSAB

After applications are submitted, Maryland Collaborative staff will review them, select applicants for virtual interviews, and make final determinations in time for notifications to go out prior to the first meeting on October 11th from 5:30-7:00pm. While applications are being reviewed, be sure to hold the October meeting date and time in your calendar.
