Description:
The Psychology Research Empowerment Program (PREP) is currently recruiting Undergraduate Peer Mentors to provide leadership, programming, and administrative support to its community projects and students. The PREP Program provides academic and career development support to first generation students, transfer students, and students with minoritized racial identities.
Responsibilities:
Fall 2022: 3 hours per week
Help recruit and mentor a small cohort of PREP Students through facilitating adjustment to the Psychology Program inclusive of help with course selection, access to resources, and social engagement in psychology
Spring 2023: 5 hours per week
Continue mentoring responsibilities, including connecting students with departmental and campus resource and planning social events for PREP students
Serve as a teaching assistant for PSYC 309P: PREP for Psychology in Spring 2023
Qualifications:
-Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Psychology
-Minimum of 60 Cumulative Credits
-Minimum 3.0 GPA
Preferred Qualifications:
-First-Generation and/or Transfer Student and/or From Minoritized Racial Background
-Foundational Level Understanding of Psychology Major Requirements, Student Support Resources, and Academic & Social Engagement Opportunities within the Psychology Department Community
-Have a Graduation Date no earlier than May 2023.
