The Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences (FABBS) is a DC-based non-profit organization promoting human welfare through advancement of the behavioral and brain sciences. We play a leading role advancing, advocating for, and educating the public and policymakers about the value of the sciences of the mind, brain, and behavior. We are looking for a dynamic addition to our team -- someone who is eager to learn more about non-profit management and public policy, and immediately playing a large role in our organization. This position holds tremendous growth opportunities. 

The Program Coordinator will provide support to all aspects of the office, working closely with the executive director, Board of Directors, member societies, and individual scientists. 

Education required: Bachelor’s degree 

Required skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel) and Google Suite; ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines; ability to work independently, including self-training and learning software platforms and systems Preferred experience: 1-2 years in an office environment; some familiarity with website and newsletter editing experience (Wordpress or similar CMS a plus); knowledge of psychological sciences and/or public policy; non-profit administration 

Key job functions: 
• Communications 
-Construct biweekly newsletter with opportunities to contribute articles 
-Manage updates to FABBS website and social media accounts 
-Provide technical support for virtual convenings 
-Oversee process for nominating, approving, and disseminating FABBS Early Career Impact and Student Research Excellence Awards 

• Advocacy 
-Represent FABBS in coalitions that support federal funding for behavioral and cognitive sciences  
-Help organize and attend events on Capitol Hill 

• Non-Profit Management 
-Provide support for organization financials 
-Manage donor database o Event planning 
-Participate in monthly Board calls 
- Access to opportunities for continued learning (through Center for Non-Profit Management) 

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule and opportunity for telework. Compensation is commensurate with experience. FABBS offers health insurance and retirement benefits.
