Red Zone Campaign: SGA Sexual Misconduct Prevention Committee

Red Zone Campaign
SGA Sexual Misconduct Prevention Committee

The red zone is the time at the start of the Fall semester where more than 50% of all college sexual assault cases occur (August- Thanksgiving). The Sexual Misconduct Prevention (SMP) committee in the Student Government Association is working to bring awareness about the Red Zone to the UMD community in order to lower the statistic on our campus. Our Red Zone Campaign will consist of a live virtual event in November with resources for survivors of sexual assault, guest speakers, and more information about SMP's dedication to ending sexual violence at UMD. This year, we will be focusing on consent education--what consent means and how to properly ask and give consent. Look out for upcoming social media posts and ways you can get involved!
