Mental Health Startup Seeking Summer and Fall Interns!

Evolving Minds
Summer 2020/Fall 2020
Internship Opportunities
Description:
We are in the midst of a national mental health crisis. Between 1999 and 2014, the United States suicide rate has increased 24%. Here at the University of Maryland, 1 in 3 Terps will feel too depressed to function. There is a great need for innovation, creative ideas that inspire cultural change and save lives.

At Evolving Minds, a mental health nonprofit start-up, we are developing innovative mental health preventative care programming and envisioning compassionate responses to a mental health crisis that affects us all. We are seeking passionate and engaged student interns to join our team. Please see the details for each intern position below.

Ideal interns enjoy brainstorming, building community, advocacy, and social entrepreneurship. This is a growth-oriented work environment with opportunities for autonomy, creativity, and leadership. As mental health advocates, we promote self-care within, integrating mindfulness and resilience-based skills into our work environment. Interns will also be trained in one of our community builder programs, leaving our internship with 10 resilience-based skills that they can integrate into future professional environments and community spaces. The internship begins this summer (June 1st, 2020) and lasts through fall of 2020. A 20 hour time commitment per week is expected with flexible responsibilities. All positions are unpaid. We are a member of the Do Good Accelerator and will meet weekly in their co-working space (under The Hotel on route 1).
