Part-Time Project Manager/Home Visitor
The Baby Books 2 Project

Description:
The Baby Books 2 (BB2) Project at the University of Maryland, College Park needs a highly capable, eager, and motivated individual to serve as a part-time home visitor for an NICHD-funded parent intervention project working with low-income, ethnic minority families.

Qualifications:
A person with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, bilingual (Spanish), and with a flexible work schedule is strongly preferred. The project manager/home visitor must have excellent communication skills, be culturally sensitive, and work well with others. Prior experience working with children, families, or home visiting is not required but strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:
· Preparing materials for home visit kits and coordinating travel to and from homes
· Conducting parent interviews in Spanish and English during home visits and via phone calls
· Administering child assessments to 18-30-month-old children during home visits
· Filing and tracking data and editing and uploading videos after each home visit.
· Interacting with the entire research team to build and maintain rapport with families.

The applicant must be willing to commit to varied weekly shifts (evenings & weekends) for a total of up to 20 hours/week. Home visitors must accommodate to families’ schedules and be available as needed. Applicants able to provide their own transportation to home visits are strongly preferred but not required.

The project manager/home visitor will be part of a dynamic and engaged team working to serve families in the DMV area. This position also offers applicants the opportunity to join the University of Maryland community and interact with diverse set of organizations, families, and settings.
