Research Assistant Position
Laboratory of Cognition and Emotion
Description:
The Laboratory of Cognition and Emotion in the Department of Psychology (www.lce.umd.edu) is
seeking one talented and motivated undergraduate research assistant to aid in conducting fMRI experiments starting in the Spring 2018 semester. This individual will assist in the completion of an fMRI study investigating decision making, risk taking, social interaction, and motivation in teenagers. The research assistant will help the investigators by working as a confederate (fake participant) as part of the study's protocol, assisting in the setting up of study sessions, and getting the opportunity to learn how fMRI studies are executed at the Maryland Neuroimaging Center. The research assistant will receive supervised training in a psychological research laboratory and can earn course credit.
Responsibilities:
-Assist project members when available
-Actively check and respond to lab emails on a daily basis
-4 hour/week commitment
-1-semester commitment required
Qualifications:
-Strong communication and organizational skills
-Interest in psychological research
-Weekend and evening availability
-Minimum 3.0 GPA
-Availability for Winter Semester preferred but not required
