Full-Time Research Assistant Positions

The Department of Medical and Clinical Psychology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences is accepting applications for several full-time Research Assistant positions. Research Assistants will be expected to provide support on a number of military suicide prevention studies.

Description:
Research Assistants receive training and supervision in a number of psychological health topics including randomized controlled trials methodology, suicide prevention, and military mental health. They are also given the option to work on an independent project, in accordance with the objectives of current studies, while under the supervision of multiple doctoral level researchers and the Lab Director, Dr. Holloway. This is a unique opportunity that will provide outstanding research work experience in preparation for graduate and/or medical training. 

Responsibilities:
-Participant recruitment, screening, and consenting at several inpatient military and VA psychiatric settings
-Delivery of follow-up research case management services
-Data entry
-Preparation of Institutional Review Board documents, literature reviews, and other research support as needed.

 Requirements/Qualifications:
-A flexible schedule of afternoon, evening, and/or weekend coverage.
-Travel between the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, and the Washington DC VA Medical Center will be required
-Applicants must have personal transportation to travel to these sites.
-Master’s degree in psychology, public health, and/or related field is preferred but we will consider exceptionally strong Bachelor’s level applicants.
-Attention to detail, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, critical thinking skills, prior experience in a research environment, interest in suicide prevention research, and a strong commitment to the care of military and VA patients with mental health conditions.
