The Gallaudet University Psi Chi chapter is hosting a Psychology Research Conference called “Exploring Psychology Tracks”. The purpose of this conference is support the development of ethically and socially responsible members and leaders in the psychology field and to educate one another about specific under served populations. This full-day event is targeted for Undergraduate and Graduate students in psychology and offers students from the consortium community in the DC metro area the opportunity to present their research findings, theoretical papers, and/or knowledge about working with specific populations with their peers at other local universities.
University of Maryland psychology majors are invited to submit theoretical papers and research projects in the following areas:
o Forensic Psychology
o Cognitive Psychology / Neuropsychology
o Lifespan Developmental Psychology
o Multicultural Psychology
The conference will be accepting both presentations and posters. Students with relevant projects from other academic departments will also be accepted. If you have an outstanding paper that they have submitted for a class that is relevant to these topics, please consider submitting it.
A panel of judges will select two awards: the Outstanding Presentation and Outstanding Poster award to two deserving Undergraduate and Graduate Students. Students from American University, The Catholic University of America, Gallaudet University, George Mason University, Trinity Washington University, The George Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard University, Marymount University, and University of Maryland have been invited to participate in this exciting conference.
Attendance is free and includes light breakfast and afternoon snack. Lunch will be on your own. If you’ve never been to Union Market (our neighbor on 6th St. NE), we recommend visiting! There is a lot of delicious fare to be had!
