Hourly Part-time Research Assistant (Cognitive Neuroscience/Cognitive Psychology)

The University of Maryland Center for Advanced Study of Language (CASL) is seeking an hourly Research Assistant to join its Cognitive Neuroscience and Cognitive Psychology Teams. The position is initially for a six-month term at roughly 25 hours per week.
The Research Assistant will assist with all aspects of behavioral and/or neuroimaging studies examining working memory, creative problem solving, and possibly other topics.
Duties include:
• assisting with study design
• creating experimental stimulus materials
• implementing testing procedures
• subject recruitment
• data collection
• data analysis
• documentation and presentation of results
• research administrative support, such as preparing IRB applications, progress reports, quarterly reviews, and scheduling meetings
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or related field, such as Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Second Language Acquisition, or Linguistics preferred. A background in human subjects’ research, especially in experimentation and psychological testing, is necessary. Candidates must be willing to be trained to perform all requisite duties of the position. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. US citizenship is required. Security clearance preferred.

CASL, established in 2003, is one of 14 university-affiliated research centers in the nation. Its mission is to conduct state-of-the-science research that results in improved performance on language tasks relevant to the work of government language professionals.
