Research Coordinator Position @ The University of Miami

The Child Affect and Behavior Lab, directed by Spencer C. Evans, Ph.D., in the Department of Psychology at the University of Miami, is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator (Research Associate 1) to support a new foundation-funded study and related projects in child clinical psychology. This position is ideal for a post-baccalaureate applicant seeking strong research experience before applying to Ph.D. programs in psychology or related fields. A two-year commitment is strongly preferred. This is a full-time, in-person, benefits-eligible position based in Coral Gables, Florida, with a flexible start date, anticipated around June 1, 2026.

Position Description:
The coordinator will play a central role in a new study examining children’s digital media use, frustration, transitions, and mental health, while also supporting the lab’s broader research on youth irritability, disruptive behavior, emotional dysregulation, assessment, and intervention. Responsibilities include coordinating day-to-day study operations; participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, and retention; assisting with child and caregiver assessments; supporting intensive longitudinal and follow-up data collection (e.g., EMA, smartphone-based audio, wearable devices, and surveys); helping with data management, quality assurance, and IRB/regulatory tasks; and assisting with community engagement and related research activities. Some evening and weekend availability is required to accommodate family schedules.

Qualifications:
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field and at least 1 year of relevant research experience. Prior experience working with children and caregivers is required. Experience with behavioral assessment, real-time data collection, online survey platforms, and statistical software is desirable. Bilingual proficiency (Spanish-English) is preferred but not required. Strong candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work well both independently and collaboratively.
