Full-time Post-Bacc Positions with Children's National

applying to graduate school or medical school? Join our team to work on pediatric psychology studies with children, teens, and young adults with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic health or behavioral health conditions.

We are hiring for up to 3 full-time paid positions, including a competitive benefits package. If you are interested in children’s health and looking for ways to prepare for graduate, nursing, or medical school, consider becoming part of a collaborative clinical research team under the supervision of Eleanor Mackey, PhD and Randi Streisand, PhD at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with the development and implementation of behavioral research studies
• Coordinating clinical intervention trials, including scheduling and tracking participant recruitment, retention, and follow-up completion
• Recruiting and enrolling participants, including in-person and remote data collection
• Conducting medical record reviews, as well as data entry/management/analysis.
• Supervising and training undergraduate volunteers and delegating lab responsibilities
• Assisting with writing and editing of grant applications and manuscripts for publication
• Working with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to maintain research ethical compliance
• Initiating and overseeing contractual agreements with study vendors

Research opportunities offer:
• Experience on prospective, clinical research studies with potential for presentations and publications
• Experience working collaboratively with health care professionals from a range of disciplines
• Excellent preparation for graduate school in psychology, public health, nursing, or medicine

Requirements:
✓ Bachelor’s degree with prior experience in clinical human subjects research or Master’s in relevant area ✓ Two-year minimum commitment
✓ Reliable transportation/willingness to travel to main hospital campus
✓ Some evening hours for phone calls

Additional recommended qualifications:
✓ Knowledge of and experience in working with IRBs
✓ Experience using statistical software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, SPSS)
✓ Experience working with children and/or clinical patient populations
✓ Fluent in English and Spanish Salary commensurate with experience.
