Play-Based Learning Tutor – Work with A Child with Autism/Special Needs
McLean, VA | $27–$32/hr | Paid Training

We are seeking an energetic, creative, and reliable individual to join our homeschool program
for our bright, curious 9-year-old son with autism. This is a one-on-one, structured,
developmentally-designed program centered around play-based learning, movement, and
hands-on activities to help him build academic skills in a fun, engaging environment.
Unlike many tutoring positions, you will be working with the same child in one location—no
traveling between clients.

Responsibilities
● Provide 1:1 instruction through a play-based and movement-oriented teaching model
● Professional training provided for the implementation of developmentally designed
goals, academic curriculum, and data collection
● Receive ongoing paid training in play-based learning and strategies for working with
children with autism
● Maintain a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment

Qualifications
● Energetic and playful
● Reliable and eager to learn new methods
● Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
● Experience with children with autism or special needs a plus, but not required (paid
training provided)
● Physically active—this role involves movement, play, and engaging with the child at
his level

Schedule
● Part-time, year-round
● Set hours: 3–6 hrs/day, 6 days/week (combination of daytime and afternoon shifts)
Compensation & Benefits
● $27–$32/hour based on experience
● Paid training provided
● Work in a single, consistent location (no travel between clients)
