Neuroscience Program at the University of Maryland, College Park is hiring an Outreach Coordinator. The coordinator will work 10 hours per week, with hourly wage commensurate with experience (~$20 - $30/hour). The GARD Lab investigates how environmental risk and protective factors shape brain, behavioral, and cognitive development during adolescence and across the lifespan. The lab employs a variety of methods and data types – e.g., qualitative interviews, survey data, observations of the neighborhood context, functional neuroimaging (fMRI), geospatial analyses, administrative data.
Responsibilities:
-Administrative duties related to outreach only – maintain lab website and social media, ordering supplies, keeping lab space welcoming to visitors
-Coordinating outreach activities – designing and publicizing events, interfacing with local non-profits and community partners, scheduling lab attendees, space reservations
-Developing new partnerships related to community engagement and policy
-Scheduling and coordinating meetings with community partners and the PI
-Training undergraduates in outreach activities

Qualifications:
-experience in community engagement-knowledge of DC
-commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
-ability to work on select nights and weekends for community events
-transportation ideal but not required
-strong organization skills
