Research Assistants Needed For Qualitative Thesis Study

We are looking for research assistants for a qualitative research 
study examining the impact of sexual
violence on Asian Pacific Islander Desi American women. Specifically, we are interested in understanding the compounding impact of racism, sexism, stigma of sexual violence victimization, and fetishization. We also hope to highlight the strengths of these women.
 
Description:     
As a research assistant, you will help with transcribing interviews and meet virtually with the research team to analyze the data. The data we are collecting will be interviews conducted with 15-20 women. We will analyze the data individually and as a team through a qualitative method called Grounded Theory.

If you are interested in helping amplify the voices of Asian American women and/or survivors of sexual violence, this is a great fit for you! This would also be a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in trauma, mental health, interviewing/qualitative research, and/or pursuing graduate studies in psychology.

Responsibilities:
-Remotely transcribe interviews starting April or May 2024 on your own time. Helping with transcription will continue until all interviews are completed.
-Meet 1-2 hours weekly during the summer starting May or June 2024 and ending during the fall 2024 (around October). These meetings will include group discussion and analysis of the data. We rely on and highly value everyone’s input!
-Prepare or analyze data each week for about an hour or less starting May or June until data analysis is completed.

Qualifications:
-Excellent communication skills
-Collaborative and team-oriented attitude
-Willing to participate and engage in group discussions
-Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology or related fields
