Students will enroll in PSYC 478 and be learn how to: (1) Demonstrate effective classroom management and leadership techniques, (2) Develop professional skills of mentorship and communication, (3) Apply research findings related to learning theories and student engagement in the development of a short lecture or review, and (4) Gain a deeper understanding of developmental psychology. Tasks include attending most classes, attend TA meetings, grading, answering student questions, writing exam questions, preparing a lecture. There are two 355 sections in Spring 2024. One is led by Dr. Elizabeth Redcay (Tu/Th 11-12:15) and one is led by Dr. Arianna Gard (Tu/Th 9:30-10:45).
-Attend most PSYC 355 courses in person
-Attend TA meetings
-Grade student assignments
-Commit to principles of diversity, equity and inclusion
Qualifications/Requirements:
-Previously taken 355 and received a B+ or higher
-Organizational skills
-Timely email correspondence
-Positive attitude and willingness to help fellow students
