Research Assistants
The Marcus Autism Center is hiring Research 

Assistants within the Pediatric Neuroimaging Research  Core. This position is for Bachelor-level or above applicants who have prior experience working in a research environment. Successful applicants will engage in two years of clinical and research experiences through various longitudinal MRI studies of infants at high and low-likelihood for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and through an MRI study of school-age children with and without ASD. Primary responsibilities include collecting MRI and eye-tracking data from infants and children, data entry and management, consenting, scheduling and hosting families who participate in our studies, and conducting parent interviews. They will also have the opportunity to observe and conduct clinical assessments, be involved in research projects, and attend events such as autism grand rounds meetings (twice a month), our summer-intensive training seminar covering clinical research in autism (one week), and weekly lab meetings. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who have previous experience with infants or young children with autism and who are interested in neuroimaging research. The ability to work nights and weekends is required. Preferred start date is June 2023. Infant Study Coordinator
The Marcus Autism Center is hiring an Infant Study Coordinator within the Pediatric Neuroimaging Research Core to assist with studies of brain development in infants at high and low-likelihood for Autism Spectrum Disorder. This position is for Bachelor-level or above applicants who have prior experience with administrative coordination of patient care for families with young children in research and/or clinical settings. The main responsibilities of the Infant Study Coordinator will be serving as the primary point of contact for families participating in our longitudinal infant MRI studies and working with our team to enhance participants’ overall experience. They will work directly with our Research Recruitment Coordinators to recruit study participants, screen them for eligibility, and consent participants into infant research studies. They will be responsible for communicating the details of the study to families, answering participants’ questions, scheduling all research visits, and ensuring that families complete all required study measures. They will be responsible for checking in with families at each study visit to provide support and address and resolve parents’ questions, concerns, and feedback.

Other responsibilities include data management and auditing (monitoring enrollment, project progress, etc.) and supporting management of IRB protocols. The Infant Study Coordinator will also have the opportunity to contribute to research projects focused on understanding and enhancing participant experiences and will contribute directly to new initiatives aimed at enhancing participant experience. The Infant Study Coordinator will also have the opportunity to attend events such as autism grand rounds meetings (twice a month), our summer-intensive training seminar covering clinical research in autism (one week), and weekly lab meetings. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a background in Social Work or related experience in a patient care coordination or patient scheduling roles, and who have previous experience working with infants and/or families impacted by autism. The ability to work nights and weekends is required. Preferred start date is June 2023. Infant Data Collection Specialists
The Marcus Autism Center is hiring Infant Data Collection Specialists within the Pediatric Neuroimaging Research Core to assist with studies of brain development in infants at high and low-likelihood for Autism Spectrum Disorder. This position is for Bachelor-level or above applicants who have prior experience working with infants in a variety of pediatric care settings (clinical, childcare, or related). Primary responsibilities include collecting MRI data from sleeping infants. They will work directly with infants and their families to learn about the infant’s naptime or bedtime routine and directly assist parents in helping their infant fall asleep for the MRI scan. They will be responsible for preparing the infant for the MRI scan and monitoring the infant during the scan. They will also be responsible for hosting study visits and screening for MRI eligibility. They will also work with the study team to identify procedural or process improvements for helping infants of all ages to fall asleep and stay asleep during MRI scans, and to improve participant experience. The Infant Data Collection Specialists will also have the opportunity to attend events such as autism grand rounds meetings (twice a month), our summer-intensive training seminar covering clinical research in autism (one week), and weekly lab meetings. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who have previous experience caring for infants, particular in the birth to 18 month age range. The ability to work nights and weekends is required. Full time (40 hr/week) and part-time (20 hr/week) positions are available. Preferred start date is June 2023.
