CREATE Arts Center in downtown Silver Spring is seeking a motivated and creative part time Aftercare Leader throughout the school year and Summer Camp to oversee our aftercare program during our No School Day Art Camps. Must be 18yrs+ to apply. Must be fully vaccinated.
Our No School Day Art Camps are single day camps that run throughout the school year, including winter and spring breaks. Camp hours run from 8am - 3pm with aftercare hours running from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Summer Camp is an 11 weeks program (Mon-Fri), June 12-August 25, with aftercare running from 3:00pm-6:00pm. The position is responsible for overseeing the studio management of CREATE aftercare participants. Other responsibilities include leading campers in games and activities, communicating with parents during pickup and supervising safety in the studios.
Job Type: Part time/Contract
Pay: $14/hr
Art Studio Associate Internship (Volunteer):
CREATE Arts Center in downtown Silver Spring is seeking a motivated and creative Art Studio Associate Intern to assist on site programming and studio management. This is a great opportunity for art or education students looking to gain experience with running studio-based art programs, non-formal education settings, and professional art studio. The intern will work with the Arts Education Director and staff. While teaching engagements are not guaranteed, Associates are frequently the go-to teachers in their studio. When teaching classes/workshops, teachers are paid per opportunity.
Summer Art Camp – Lead Teaching Artist
CREATE Arts Center in downtown Silver Spring invites dynamic, experienced, and creative Teaching Artists to apply to lead our Summer Art Camps between June 19 and August 25, 2023. This year, we are offering an onsite Summer Art Camp for children ages 6-14. Onsite camp runs from 9:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday. Preference will be given to those applicants willing to work Monday-Friday 9:00 am-3:00 pm during multiple weeks in the summer, or those looking to continue with us year-round. During the non-summer months, CREATE offers a variety of art classes and school break camps. We welcome experienced teaching artists of all traditional mediums to roll up their sleeves, put on their smocks, and make an impact on our community! Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, education or related fields.
Lesson planning experience.

Pay: $25/h (camp weekly shift is 8am-3pm, M-F).
