Hematology and Oncology at Children's National Hospital is recruiting research assistant volunteers to assist with studies involving children and adolescents with sickle cell disease, cancer, and those undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplants.
The lab's NIH- and foundation-funded research examines behavioral, psychological, and neurocognitive effects of pediatric chronic diseases and associated treatments, as well as novel behavioral and cognitive interventions. Mentorship and career-enhancing opportunities (e.g., co-authorship on abstracts and publications, networking) will be provided. Past volunteers have been successful in obtaining full-time, paid research assistant positions and/or matriculating into clinical psychology Ph.D. programs.
