Full-Time Lab Manager Position  

Description:
The Diversity and Intergroup Relations Lab (PI: Linda Zou) is seeking a full-time lab manager to begin in the Summer 2022. The lab manager will work under the supervision of the PI on research investigating how social contexts affect intergroup attitudes and behavior, particularly among racial and ethnic groups. Students who are interested in pursuing a PhD in social psychology or related fields are encouraged to apply.

This will be a full-time position for an initial one-year appointment, with the possibility to extend for additional years based on performance and funding. Responsibilities:
-Assist with the design and implementation of research projects in lab, on-campus, and online settings.
-Assist in the preparation of human subjects applications, modifications, and progress reports for IRB.
-Contribute to data analysis, data-checking, and the preparation of summary data reports, figures, and tables.
-Manage participant recruitment and screening efforts, and participant payment.
-Contribute to data collection and participant debriefing.
-Supervise undergraduate research assistants and act as point of contact between research assistants and PI.
-Assist with recruitment and onboarding of undergraduate research assistants.
-Coordinate the scheduling of lab activities, including lab meetings and research assistants’ daily tasks.
-Manage lab finances including purchases, reimbursements, budgeting, etc.
-Develop, review, and revise lab protocols.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field.
-At least 1 year of research experience (preferably in an experimental psychology lab).
-Experience in conducting human subjects research.
-Experience with data management and analysis using SPSS and/or R.
-Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
-Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
-Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of project staff, from research assistants to PI.
-Experience overseeing a research study.
-Research interests in intergroup relations, diversity, stereotyping, racial inequality, or related areas.
-Mature, organized, detailed-oriented, and effective time management skills.
