Mental Health Text Line, Lean On Me CP is open and recruiting!

Are you interested in supporting students through
mental health challenges?

Do you hope to make a wider impact on campus? Are you ever the stand-in therapist, mom friend, or go-to tea spiller?

Apply to be a Lean On Me College Park (CP) supporter at https://ter.ps/leanonme! Lean On Me CP is an anonymous, peer-to-peer text line for UMD students to seek non-crisis mental health support.

Lean On Me CP complements existing services at UMD with a mission to lower the barrier to entry for seeking emotional support by being anonymous, highly accessible, approachable, and involved in the community. Feel free to text us at 301-494-8808 from 2 PM - 2 AM any day of the week to chat with one of our trained peer supporters.

If you are interested in being a supporter, please apply by February 6th at https://ter.ps/lomspring22 and learn more about the line and role here. If you are a returning applicant, please complete a new application at https://ter.ps/lomreapply. Otherwise, please click the sign up button to create a new account. All UMD students are welcome to apply to be a supporter; no prior experience is needed and all training will be provided!

Lean On Me was originally founded in 2015 by MIT students and has chapters at eight other universities around the country. For more information about Lean On Me, click here: https://lean0n.me/
