DURATION: ~11 weeks; 2+ weeks of training, 8 weeks of camp sessions with both camps, ages 8-17
Description:
Guided Discoveries is looking for college students who are passionate about working with children! Our summer camp in Clover, VA is looking for counselors for its AstroCamp and Camp Motorsport programs. Summer camp provides a wonderful supplemental experience for education and counseling students. You will have the benefit of working with children in a more relaxed environment, allowing them to connect with children on a different level and in a different time frame than is often able to take place in a formal school or clinical setting. Many of our staff continue on to teaching and counseling careers after leaving us, and they all have benefitted from the skills and experiences gained by working at our summer camps. It’s a great way for current students like yourself to gain real-world experience and to get paid for it! Plus summer camp is just... fun! Our staff have opportunities to be creative, mentor children, make lasting, meaningful friendships, and develop skills that will benefit them in their personal and professional lives.Located in Southern Virginia, AstroCamp and Camp Motorsport are looking to provide a truly unique experience to campers aged 8-17. At our 406-acre facility, we run both AstroCamp and Camp Motorsport
at the same time. Program facilities include state-of-the-art science labs, the Kart Barn with driving
equipment, and ample amounts of usable outdoor space. Our facility also has climate-controlled housing
(for campers and staff), a full-service dining hall, and swimming lake.
