Application Instructions – MiNDS Program (temple.edu)

Two-year research program that includes::

• Summer Research – full time, 11 Weeks, $6000 stipend
• Academic Year Research – ~10 hrs/week, $15/hr
• Coursework to build technical expertise in Neuroscience
•Outreach opportunities to engage with middle and HS
students and build teaching skills

• Considering teaching? Our program will give you a taste.

• You will be given mentoring and advice
• All the unwritten information that other students seem to know (but you don’t!) will
now be yours!

Research Areas:   
• Behavioral Neuroscience
• What brain processes are involved in generating behavior –
• Example: What brain regions/proteins/circuits control impulsivity? If I manipulate these
things can I increase or decrease impulsivity?

• Cognitive Neuroscience
• What are the biological processes underlying human cognition –
• Example: How does episodic memory change during childhood?


• Animal Models of Psychiatric Disease
• How does normal brain function get disrupted with mental health disorders –
• Example: How do drugs of abuse (opioids/stimulants) change the brain? How do these
changes drive addictive behaviors?
