Description:
Applicants are being sought for one research coordinator position in the WELL Center,
Department of Psychology at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, under the direction
of Meghan Butryn, Ph.D. Dr. Butryn conducts NIH-funded clinical trials in the areas of
obesity treatment and prevention, as well as technology-aided behavior change. This
coordinator’s particular focus will be on a study aiming to improve adherence to cancer
prevention dietary guidelines via a mobile health intervention.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Candidates may include undergraduate students who anticipate completing a bachelor’s
degree in the spring of 2021, with coursework and/or work experience related to clinical
research. The ideal candidate will begin remote, part-time work (10-20 hours per week)
in October 2020. With strong performance, the coordinator will convert to a full-time
position in May 2021, after which a commitment of 1-2 additional years is required. This
position is excellent preparation for individuals who wish to gain intensive research
experience and pursue graduate study in clinical psychology or a related area.

Responsibilities:
Coordinator responsibilities will include scheduling and conducting clinical research
assessments (which will be conducted remotely); managing data and coordinating data
collection; maintaining contact and approvals with NIH and IRB; and supervising part-
time research assistants. Opportunities also will be available, as desired, for mentorship
in data analysis and preparation of poster presentations and/or manuscripts.

Coordinators also have the opportunity to be exposed to and involved in delivery of
various clinical interventions.
