Intern for a Day has historically connected undergraduate UMD students with alumni, parents, and employers for in-person job shadowing experiences to explore potential career fields.

For the fall 2020 semester, we are offering Intern for a Day Lite which will match undergraduate UMD students with professionals working in a field of interest to conduct virtual informational interviews. Our 200+ "hosts" live and work all over the globe. This reimagined program takes the "cold calling" out of informational interviews and networking for students!

Students Must Complete a 20-Minute Online Orientation for Application Access.
Students have access to the asynchronous orientation in ELMS beginning next week. The orientation will cover informational interviewing best practices and more details about the Intern for a Day Lite program.

Students can request access to the mandatory orientation here.
The deadline to complete the mandatory orientation is Sunday, October 11.
Students who complete the orientation and all of its associated activities will receive the application via their UMD email address on Monday, October 12.

The majority of questions about Intern for a Day Lite's process and structure will be addressed during the mandatory orientation in ELMS. For other questions or concerns, please email ifad@umd.edu.

Students who have already participated in Intern for a Day still need to complete the orientation.

Check out the list of 200+ professionals willing to conduct virtual informational interviews with students here!
