Spring 2020
Research Assistant Positions
Description:
The Culture Lab, directed by Dr. Michele Gelfand, is seeking motivated research assistants to assist with data collection for a developmental psychology study during the Spring 2020 semester. Our research generally focuses on examining social norms across cultures, but this specific project will examine social norms in early childhood. Research assistants’ primary responsibility will be interacting with young children to collect data. Additional duties may include data entry and literature reviews. Experience working with young children is preferred. RAs may earn PSYC 479 credit or work as volunteers. A commitment of 9 hours (3 credits) per week is preferred (minimum 6 hours per week/2 credits required). This position is a great opportunity for students interested in developmental psychology, social psychology, and/or education to gain research experience. For more information about the research done in the Culture Lab, visit our lab website (www.michelegelfand.com/lab).
How To Apply:
To apply send your resume, unofficial transcript, and a brief statement describing your interest and any previous experience working with children and/or conducting research to lab manager Emmy Denison at edenison@umd.edu.
