Family Involvement Lab

Interested in hands-on research experience in social sciences? Interested in working with families and young children from diverse backgrounds? The Family Involvement Laboratory is looking for bilingual (Spanish and English) undergraduate research assistants starting this Spring 2020 semester. Research assistants may work on one of two active projects. Baby Books 2, an NIH-funded experiment led by Dr. Natasha Cabrera, embeds educational information into baby books to help parents with child development, injury prevention and parenting. The Everyday Learning Project looks at how
toddlers learn math and spatial skills by
interacting with mothers and fathers.
Research assistants may participate in:
• Data collection and entry
• Code and transcribe videos
• Attend lab meetings
• Go on home visits - interview parents and interact with toddlers (18 – 30 months)
Students should commit to two-semesters.
