Mental Health Intake Interviewer/Research Assistant
Description:
The UMD Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab conducts behavioral and psychophysiological research at the Salvation Army Harbor Light, an inpatient drug-use treatment facility located in NE DC, and is looking to recruit one to two well-qualified, well-motivated third- or fourth-year undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career or graduate studies in psychology to help conduct semi-structured mental health diagnostic intake interviews for new clients entering the treatment facility. Selected interns will work closely with UMD graduate students and staff to create DSM-V diagnoses, provide treatment recommendations, and operate as mandated reporters. This is a rare opportunity to engage with a high-risk population with real psychopathology in an active clinical environment at a graduate-studies level.
