African American Studies
Overview:
The Black Child and Family Lab in the African American Studies Department is seeking to hire a Faculty Assistant for a one-year full-time appointment beginning immediately. The appointment comes with a 40-45k salary and includes benefits.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties will include recruiting participants for the lab’s various projects through community outreach, social media, and university databases; managing the scheduling and retention of participants; assisting with qualitative data analysis; assisting in acquiring Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for new projects; creating surveys via Qualtrics; conducting literature searches; assisting with manuscript preparation and editing; developing training materials; training new lab members; and overseeing undergraduate/graduate research assistants’ duties and time sheets.
Qualifications:
• Baccalaureate degree. • Research experience. • Personal vehicle for outreach activities. • Prior experience in a community outreach, lab manager, or department staff position will be prioritized but is not required. • Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint). • Prior experience with Qualtrics or able to learn. • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills.
