2019 Summer Retreat
Uplifting Immigrant Joy
Saturday, July 20, 2019
9:00 am-3:00 pm
RSVP: HERE
Saturday, July 20th from 9 am - 3 pm the UMD Undocumented Student Program will be hosting the third annual summer retreat at the University of Maryland. This year we will be focusing on Uplifting Immigrant Joy as we acknowledge the need to continue to build community across immigrant experiences and how crucial it is to continue to have conversations about mental wellness, joy, and resilience.
This retreat is open to current or incoming students (graduate students too) that identify as immigrants as well as alumni. This could include TPS holders, folks in mixed-immigration-status families, DACA recipients, first-generation immigrants, and currently or formerly undocumented students and alumni.
This years summer retreat will serve as an opportunity to play games outside, engage in conversation about Joy with leaders from the UndocuBlack Network, build relationships, and share a meal with peers from and outside of UMD, including students from Georgetown.
This retreat is FREE, however, to ensure that we have enough food and materials folks must SIGN UP HERE to confirm their participation. I will follow up with folks who RSVP on 7/15/19 with final location details and the agenda.
