Description:
The Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park is currently
recruiting for a full-time Research Assistant position to start in June/July, 2019 (start date is
flexible). This position is part of an NIMH-funded lab focusing on social impairment and related
cognitive and behavioral deficits in psychotic disorders. The study also incorporates structural
and functional brain imaging (fMRI).

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an BA/BS or Master’s
degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Counseling. Clinical assessment experience with
seriously mentally ill adults including use of structured interview measures for assessing
diagnoses and symptoms is preferred.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include recruitment of potential research participants, conducting clinical
interviews and administering standardized assessments, data management, and participating in
other research related activities. Although this hire is through the University of Maryland,
College Park, the position will include responsibilities at research sites in College Park,
Bethesda/Silver Spring, and at the School of Medicine in Baltimore. Because of the fMRI used
in this study any applicant will have to pass an MRI-metal safety screen to ensure that they can
safely work within an fMRI environment. Salary is competitive and the position includes full
faculty/staff benefits.
