Full-time Research Assistant Positions

Description:
The Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders (CASD) at Children’s National Health System is seeking applications for two full-time Research Assistants. Our research program aims to improve outcomes in autism with a particular focus in the areas of:
-Gender/sex differences in autism; transgender autistic youth
-Executive function phenotyping and intervention development (ranging from early childhood through transition age)
-Disparities in access to care
-Biomarkers and neuroimaging
Our multidisciplinary research faculty includes Drs. Lauren Kenworthy, John Strang, Cara Pugliese, Allison Ratto, and Kelly Register-Brown. Research assistants at CASD work collaboratively on a variety of research projects, including intervention, phenotyping, and functional neuroimaging research. Our research faculty works closely with research assistants to provide supervision on individual projects and mentorship for career goals.
Responsibilities:
General responsibilities include clinical assessment, parent interviews, participant recruitment, data collection and management, and IRB protocol management. Additional training and experience in grant preparation, data analysis, neuroimaging preprocessing and analytics, and development of research manuscripts is also provided. Applicants will need their own car as our research occurs across clinics, labs, and community locations not easily accessible with public transportation alone.
Qualifications/Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts is required. A strong background in psychology, biology, and/or health sciences is preferred. Prior experience with research, statistics, and/or children with disabilities is strongly recommended. This position provides valuable experience and publication opportunities for candidates interested in pursuing degrees in psychology or medicine.
