Meet the Psychology Department's new Academic Advisor, Alexis Foley! Alexis will begin her new position in the Office of Undergraduate Studies on

Alexis is currently finishing her M.Ed in Higher Education, Student Affairs & International Education Policy at University of Maryland. At UMD, Alexis has worked as a Resident Director and has taught UNIV100 courses to incoming first year students. Her research interests center on how Black students conceptualize home within the environment at predominantly white institutions. Alexis studied abroad in Ghana, West Africa, where she helped evaluate counseling services at the University of Cape Coast and assisted in the development of a culturally appropriate action plan for increasing use of their services. Prior to coming to UMD, Alexis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. Please join us in welcoming Alexis to the Department of Psychology!
