Description:
Retouch International Ministries (RIM) is looking for a Mentor/Life Skills Facilitator for the Girls Emerging on a Mission to Success (G.E.M.S.) After-School Youth Program. This is a Part-Time but growing opportunity. The candidate selected will play a key part in the mental, emotional and social growth and development of our participant’s life and their family. Additionally, this person will contribute to the success of G.E.M.S. participant’s by teaching core life skills, providing interpersonal mentorship, guidance, referrals and additional support as needed. Furthermore, this person will coordinate projects, field trips and school meetings with administrative support as needed.

Responsibilities:
-Planning (life skills, field trips, recreational/social events), teaching and facilitating life skills weekly -Support students in learning the life skills and applying them practically
-Be able to keep relevant documentation regarding the students’ status/progress
-Be available to students as needed
-Having FUN!
-Maintain monthly phone contact with parents/guardians to foster positive and strong professional relationships with each student and their family
-Meet with School counselors monthly to discuss student’s status, progress or lack of.
-Maintain confidentiality per HIPPA and other legal restriction
-Meet with Program Coordinator for bi-weekly review/ staffing as needed
-Making a positive and lasting impact

Qualifications:
-Professional experiences working with youth and families
-Extremely organize with writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills
-Have good time management skills and work ethics
-Ability to work very well with teenage girls and their families that you’d be mistaken as a family member (with boundaries of course)
-Believes in having fun and able to use humor as a tool for engaging students
-Is creative, able to think outside the box to create strong student engagement
-Is flexible, adapts to change quickly with a positive attitude
-Has experience working in racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse urban communities  -Works hard but likes to have FUN while getting things done.
-Knows how to use a PC or Mac (Can get around with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point)
-Is always learning, growing and being stretched
-Has a positive attitude
-Is not a friend of excuses
