Full-time Research Assistant Position (Faculty Assistant)
The University of Maryland Developmental Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab and Laboratory of Cognition and Emotion

Description:
The University of Maryland Developmental Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab directed by Dr. Elizabeth Redcay (www.dscn.umd.edu) and Laboratory of Cognition and Emotion directed by Dr. Luiz Pessoa (www.lce.umd.edu) are jointly seeking a full-time research assistant (called Faculty Assistant at UMD) starting this summer 2018. The research assistant would assist with projects that examine the temporal evolution of brain network organization during dynamic, multimodal social and emotional processing. These studies include investigating effects of social (e.g., joint attention) and emotional (e.g., mood induction) context on network organization. This is an excellent position for anyone who would like to pursue graduate work in cognitive, developmental and/or clinical neuroscience. We encourage applicants with a background in psychology, cognitive science, computer science, engineering, or related fields to apply.

Responsibilities:
The research assistant will split time between the DSCN and LCE labs on the UMD campus. The research assistant will be responsible for participant recruitment and consent, managing IRB protocols and data archiving. Responsibilities will additionally include data collection and analyses of MRI and behavioral studies with children and adults and development of stimulus presentation scripts. The position may involve MRI operator training on the 3T Siemens scanner on the UMD cam
There may be opportunities for presenting data at conferences and co-authoring publications.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree
-Experience with Matlab
-Experience with neuroimaging analysis software (e.g., AFNI, SPM, FSL, Freesurfer), and Linuxpus.
