Description:
The Maryland Psychotherapy Clinic and Research Lab (MPCRL) provides high-quality, low-cost
counseling and psychotherapy to adults in the Prince George's, Montgomery County, and Washington, D.C. area. Treatment focuses on insight and understanding difficulties in relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and meaning of life. Research conducted in the lab aims to study the effectiveness and efficacy of psychotherapy through video recorded therapy sessions. The lab is looking for motivated undergraduate research assistants for the Summer 2018 and Fall 2018 semesters. Students will have the opportunity to earn PSYC479 credit for their work in the lab.
Responsibilities:
-Behavioral Coding
-Transcribing
-Administrative duties such as answering phones, setting up measures and recording therapy sessions
-Participating in individual research projects as needed
-Commitment of at least 6 hours per week
Qualifications:
-Minimum 3.3 GPA
-Psychology Major
-Interest in Counseling Psychology/Psychotherapy
-Punctual & Reliable
-Able to work independently
