Description:
Under the direction of Lyn Dahlquist, Ph.D., the Pediatric Psychology Lab at UMBC has conducted numerous research projects in collaboration with hospitals throughout Baltimore and its surrounding suburbs. Current research includes studies regarding the impact of food allergy on the lives of children and their families and the use of virtual reality distraction for acute pain management in children. We also are interested in the effects of psychosocial interventions, such as mindfulness, on the experience of acute experimental pain. This summer research opportunity will be a unique opportunity to work with college students and children in the context of pediatric psychology and pain mechanisms. This is an unpaid opportunity. However, students may be able to receive college credit.

-Literature Reviews
Qualifications:
-Current or recent undergraduate
-Psychology or other relevant major
-Interest in working with children
-Interest in gaining more research experience
