Description:
The Maryland Psychotherapy Clinic and Research Lab (MPCRL) provides high-quality, low-cost
counseling and psychotherapy to adults in the Prince George's, Montgomery County, and Washington, D.C. area. Treatment focuses on insight and understanding difficulties in relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and meaning of life. Research conducted in the lab aims to study the effectiveness and efficacy of psychotherapy. The lab is looking for motivated undergraduate research assistants for the Fall 2017 semester. Students will have the opportunity to earn PSYC479 credit for their work in the lab.
Responsibilities:
-Behavioral Coding
-Transcribing
-Administrative duties such as answering phones, setting up measures and recording therapy sessions
-Commitment of at least 6 hours per week
-Must have hours available during any of the following times: Mondays from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, Tuesdays from10:30 am - 2 pm, Wednesdays from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and 4 pm - 8 pm, and Thursdays from 10:30 am - 1 pm and 3 pm - 8 pm.
Qualifications:
-Minimum 3.3 GPA
-Psychology Major
-Interested in Counseling Psychology/Psychotherapy
-Punctual & Reliable
-Able to work independently
