The Homeless Children’s Playtime Project’s mission is to nurture healthy child development and reduce the effects of trauma among children living in temporary housing in Washington D.C. Playtime seeks to create a city that provides every opportunity for children in families experiencing homelessness to succeed by ensuring safe and fun spaces to play and learn, providing consistent programs, offering support services for families, and advocating for affordable housing and safe shelter. Playtime Project offers play and youth development programming to youth ages 6 months -- 18 years old who are experiencing homelessness. We offer evening programs at 4 family shelters and rely heavily on volunteers to implement our programs. We look for volunteers who have experience working with youth or vulnerable populations. Volunteers can hopefully commit to volunteering Tues. & Wed. two evenings per week (6:30-8:30 pm).

-Be able to set healthy boundaries
-Availability: Tues. & Wed. Evenings
