Two Research Assistant Positions
Description:
The Laboratory of Cognition and Emotion in the Department of Psychology (www.lce.umd.edu) is seeking two talented and motivated undergraduate research assistants to aid in conducting behavioral experiments starting in the Spring 2017 semester. The individuals chosen for this position will learn about the process of research, read the literature in cognitive psychology, assist with running behavioral experiments and might also assist with data storage and analysis of data from interviews and surveys. The lab’s projects employ behavioral and functional MRI methods to study interactions between cognition and emotion/motivation. The specific project the research assistants will be working for involves topics related to decision making, risk taking, social interactions and motivation. Research assistants receive supervised training in a research laboratory and earn course credit.
Responsibilities:
-Data entry
-Data collection
-Opportunity to perform data analysis
-9 hour/week commitment
-1-semester commitment required
Qualifications:
-Minimum 3.0 GPA
-Strong communication and organizational skills
-Interest in cognitive psychology
