Description:
The Brain Assessment Research Lab at Walter Reed is seeking one to two energetic, well-organized, detail-oriented, responsible individuals to work as unpaid interns on a longitudinal clinical research project. This work is conducted at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The research project, directed by Dr. Connie Duncan, involves assessment of brain structure and function in healthy and injured Service Members with mild traumatic brain injury. Brain indices include event-related brain potentials, sensory-evoked potentials, neuroimaging, and neurocognitive performance.
Responsibilities:
-Scheduling subjects
-Escorting patients to appointments
-Data entry
-Data quality checking
-Administrative tasks such as photocopying, test and interview folder assembling, and general cleaning of lab equipment.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Candidates with an excellent academic record, previous research experience and/or experience with Microsoft Excel and data entry are highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment is essential. This position is ideal for someone who seeks experience in clinical research. We request a commitment of at least 8-10 hours/week during the school year and 15- 20 hours/week during the summer months.
