The Brain Assessment Research Laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland, has an opening for a Research Assistant .

Description: 
The lab seeks an energetic, well-organized, detail-oriented, responsible, and dedicated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work full- or part-time as a Research Assistant on a clinical research project. This work, conducted at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, is directed by Dr. Connie Duncan. The project involves assessment of brain function in injured service members with mild traumatic brain injury and healthy service members. The primary measure is event-related brain potentials. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, patient recruitment, scheduling, and interviewing; electrophysiological and neurocognitive testing; data processing, entry, and analysis; maintaining databases and files; word processing and preparation of figures and slides; purchasing; and other duties in support of research projects. Assistance in preparation of manuscripts may also be required.

Requirements:
An excellent academic record and research experience, English fluency, and a bachelor's or master’s degree. Previous experience with EEG/ERP recording, Excel, E-Prime, PowerPoint, and statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, R) are highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work independently is essential. Weekend work and flexible scheduling may be required occasionally.
