Temple University's Institute for Survey Research is one of the oldest and most prestigious academic survey research centers in the U.S., with more than 40 years of experience conducting national, state, and local surveys, statistical research, focus group research, needs assessments, and program evaluations. Temple ISR has temporary employment opportunities available beginning in July 2015 through late 2016 in the Washington DC area to work as Field Interviewers. Field Interviewers will make face-to-face visits to screen selected households for eligible African American men and conduct interviews with selected respondents using a laptop/tablet. All necessary training will be provided. We offer: - Mileage reimbursement, travel and expense reimbursement - Paid technical training - Hourly pay rate of $15 per hour depending on experience - English/Spanish bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
-Available to work 12-40 hours per week for blocks of time, primarily evenings, and weekends
-Available to work through late 2016
-Ability to work in diverse communities and multi-task
-Available, reliable transportation to meet the demands of the assignments. Proof of a valid driver's license and auto insurance are required when driving for Temple ISR field interviewing
-Graduate from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Excellent computer and typing skills using a laptop (Windows OS).
-Strong computer skills and familiarity with spreadsheets and databases
-Good oral communication and comprehension skills as well as good writing and analytical skills
-Ability to adjust to the environment outdoors and weather conditions as encountered
-Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs (various flights) as needed

Qualifications:
-Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds (door-to-door) of project-related equipment/materials -Graduate from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
