Community Services Program Coordinator Internship

Responsibilities:
Providing on site support to mentors and mentees at the host site;
Supporting the Coordinator in responding to volunteer inquiries;
Assisting with enhancing communication and promotion of program including but not limited to assisting with press releases, reaching out to newsletters, PTA’s, schools and the community;
Assisting with mentor recruitment activities;
Assisting with developing community services projects, programming and outreach to the community utilizing needs assessments;
Researching new trends and best practices for evidence based programming.
Hours requested are 10-15 hours per week, a stipend is available
Ability to work independently;
Experience in researching topics and preparing report/outline.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of social/economical issues facing youth and families.
Combination of training and experience that is equivalent to two years college coursework from an accredited university or college in a social science or closely related field.

The City of Rockville’s Division of Community Services provides for the well being of individuals and families through identification of the human service needs of all residents, monitoring of human services programs funded by the City of Rockville and delivery of prevention and intervention programs and services for youth and services. As the Community Services Programs Intern, you will be providing support to youth and families under the direction of the Community Services Program Coordinator.
