If you had the opportunity to address your fellow graduates at this year's commencement ceremony, what would you say?
Each year the Department of Psychology selects one undergraduate student to deliver a 5-minute speech at its commencement ceremony. The theme of your speech is entirely up to you so long as it in some way reflects the significance of graduating from the University of Maryland with a graduate or undergraduate degree in psychology.
All graduating seniors are encouraged to apply and semifinalists will be selected on the basis of the fit with their theme and their record of academic excellence and outstanding contributions.
Step 1: Prepare your written reply to these two prompts
Applicants selected as semifinalists will draft the complete speech and interview with members of the Department of Psychology’s Undergraduate Committee.
