MURI Culture and Social Psychology Lab


Description
The MURI Culture and Social Psychology Research Lab, headed by Dr. Michele Gelfand, studies organizational dynamics across cultures. Recent research coming out of the lab has touched on honor, social norms, negotiation, trust violation and repair, punishment, escalation of conflict, and collective memory. Many of these research projects focus specifically in comparative cultural dynamics between American and Middle Eastern cultures, with an eye on the application of findings to real-world critical issues. Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • 6 hr/wk commitment minimum
  • Attendance of bi-monthly lab meetings
  • Data collection
  • Data entry
  • Transcript interview coding
  • Preparing study materials
  • Data analysis
  • Reliable communication
Qualifications:
  • Psychology GPA 3.0+
  • Overall GPA 2.8+
  • Sophomore standing or above
  • 9+ completed credits in Psychology
