Interpersonal Relationships Lab now recruiting for Summer 2014 and Fall 2014 research assistant positions!

Undergraduate Research Assistant Position
Summer 2014/Fall 2014
Interpersonal Relationships Lab
Dr. Edward Lemay

Description:
Undergraduate research assistants / independent study students are invited to apply to work in the Interpersonal Relationships Lab in the Psychology Department. The lab is supervised by Dr. Edward Lemay. The ongoing studies concern the effects of interpersonal goals on social interaction and social perception. In other words, when we have the goal to be liked, respected, or valued by others, how does this shape social behavior, social perception, and other people's reactions? For this Fall, students will primarily watch video-recorded social interactions and make judgments regarding the behaviors enacted by each person. Motivated students will have the opportunity to present results of this research at a research conference. Later in the semester, we may run a new study on this same topic, and students will help with running the data collection sessions.

Responsibilities:
-Watch and rate videos
-Administer data collection sessions
-Schedule date collection sessions
-Advertise study

Qualifications:
-Good attention to detail
-Responsible
-Motivated
-Interest in the subject matter

How To Apply:
Contact Dr. Edward Lemay at elemay@umd.edu for more information about the lab, studies, and work you will perform.
