LIFT, a growing movement to establish holistic and enduring solutions to America's fight on poverty, is seeking interns and volunteers to serve low-income individuals and families within the Washington DC area.
Internship Description:
Work one-on-one to find jobs, secure safe and stable housing, make ends meet through public benefits and tax credits, and obtain referrals for child and health care.
Requirements:
Serve at least 8 hours per week; Most interns/volunteers commit to 12-16 hours per week.
Full-semester commitment
Completion of training sessions on January 24 and February 2.
Passion for serving one's community
Qualifications:
Bright, motivated individuals with a strong desire to give back to the community
A determination and commitment to helping others through pro-active problem-solving skills
