for PSYC 433 for the Fall 2023 Semester!  

Description:
Have you previously taken PSYC433: Helping Skills Basic Research and Practice? If so, you might be eligible to serve as a teaching assistant/lab leader! This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your leadership skills while also assisting others sharpen their skills as a helper! If you are considering graduate school in the future, have interest in teaching, or desire to learn more about course development, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Interested individuals have the option to enroll in PSYC478 for 1-3 credit hours.

Responsibilities:
-Attending weekly teaching team meetings with the instructor, graduate TA, and peer undergraduate TAs
-Attend lectures (as available) on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:50pm AND attend your designated weekly lab section
-Grade assignments
-Respond to student questions in-class, assist students in their practice of helping skills by offering feedback and guidance
-Co-lead at least one lab lecture with a graduate student TA

Qualifications/Requirements:
-UTAs must be committed to fostering an encouraging and inclusive learning environment
-Must have taken PSYC433 at UMD and received an A-, A, or A+ in the course
