The Center for Neuroscience, Division of Neuropsychology, and Gender Development Program at Children’s National Hospital is seeking immediate applications for a full-time Research Assistant to join our multidisciplinary research team. Projects include US federally funded longitudinal research as well as international studies of youth risk/resilience (in partnership with VU University, Amsterdam, NL). Research areas include: • Gender-diverse youth development
• Neuroimaging approaches in gender-diverse populations
• Gender-affirming interventions
• Equitable inclusion and characterization of gender-diverse individuals in research
• Community-based participatory research (CBPR)
• Youth with intersecting gender diversity and neurodiversity (including autism)
Our research assistants work collaboratively on a variety of research projects. Our multidisciplinary faculty work closely with the research assistants to provide supervision on individual projects and mentorship for career goals.
Responsibilities:
Clinical characterization/assessment
Participant recruitment
Data collection and management (behavioral and neuroimaging)
Data analysis
Co-authorship of manuscripts
40 hours weekly (full time)
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts
Strong background in psychology, neuroscience, biology, and/or health sciences is preferred
Experience with research, statistics, and adolescents is recommended
At least a one-year commitment, but prioritization of applicants who are interested in a two-year position
Must have a car
